My estrogen was 3180 pg/ml on trigger day with 19 follicles, but only 8 mature eggs were retrieved. Did anyone else have this kind of mismatch?

I'm still trying to understand what happened in my cycle because the numbers don't seem to add up. My AFC was 21, I responded well throughout stimulation, trigger day estradiol was around 3180 pg/ml and the scan showed 19 measurable follicles. I honestly expected a much higher mature egg count, but retrieval gave me 8 mature eggs out of 11 collected. Has anyone else had good follicle numbers and estrogen levels but still ended up with fewer mature eggs than expected? I'm wondering if this is more about follicle size at trigger, trigger timing, or just normal IVF variability. I would really like to hear from someone who had similar cycle numbers.

I would’ve expected more too with those numbers!! I’ve seen cycles look really strong on paper and still end up with fewer mature eggs than expected. Follicle count and estrogen can be so misleading sometimes. 8 mature out of 11 retrieved also doesn’t sound unusually low though. Did they say anything about follicle sizes at trigger?

I've wondered about this too because on paper those numbers would have made me expect more mature eggs. From everything I've learned, though, estrogen and follicle count don't always translate into mature egg numbers. Things like the size of the follicles at trigger, how each follicle responds, trigger timing and even normal cycle-to-cycle variability can all affect the final outcome. I'd really like to hear from others who had similar numbers and whether a later cycle turned out differently.
