My IUD partially expelled just 4 months after insertion and that's what eventually led to my adenomyosis diagnosis. Looking back, I'd had irregular periods for years with some cycles heavy enough to need a pad change every 1.5 to 2 hrs, but because it wasn't every month I never thought much of it. Has anyone else had an IUD expel before finding out they had adeno? Just wondering how common this actually is.
Mine wasn't an IUD, but I completely relate to looking back and suddenly realising all those little signs had been there for years. I kept brushing off my painful periods because they slowly became my normal, and by the time I got diagnosed with adenomyosis I couldn't believe how much I'd just learnt to live with. It's strange how everything only seems to make sense in hindsight. 🙁
I didn't have an IUD, but adeno explained so many things i had brushed off for years. Heavy periods just became my normal until i realised they really weren't. Makes me wonder how many of us only get diagnosed after something unexpected happens like this.
I had a similar experience where I didn’t realise some of the signs my body was showing me until much later. Looking back, the irregular and heavy periods were probably things I had normalised for too long. It can be really confusing when something like an IUD issue ends up being the thing that leads to finding out there was an underlying condition.
