My heavy periods have left me iron deficient more than once, and it feels like I'm just correcting my iron levels only for them to drop again. Iron supplements help for a while, but unless the bleeding improves, it seems like the cycle just repeats itself. Has anyone else experienced this? What eventually helped you keep your iron levels stable?

This was me for the longest time. I'd get my iron back up with supplements and then a few heavy cycles later it would drop all over again. It honestly felt like i was treating the iron deficiency but never the actual reason behind it. Did anyone finally manage to break that cycle?

I remember dealing with this too, and it was honestly frustrating when the iron levels would improve and then drop again. With adenomyosis, the heavy bleeding can make it feel like you are constantly trying to catch up with your iron. It took time to understand that the issue was not just the deficiency, but also what was causing it to keep coming back.

I went through the same cycle for years. I would take iron supplements, feel better for a while, and then my levels would drop again because the heavy bleeding never really improved. What finally helped was focusing on controlling the bleeding itself along with regular iron supplements and monitoring my ferritin levels. Since then, my iron levels have been much more stable and I don't feel as exhausted all the time.

I suffered from iron deficiency anemia because of adenomyosis, which caused heavy and prolonged menstrual bleeding. The constant blood loss left me feeling extremely tired, weak, dizzy, and short of breath. Even simple daily activities became exhausting, and it affected both my physical and emotional well-being. After getting the right diagnosis and treatment, I understood how important it is to address heavy periods instead of ignoring them. Sharing my experience is my way of encouraging others to seek medical help early and prioritize their health.
