How long did everyone’s laparoscopy surgery take?

my surgeon said it would typically take 1 hour then you rest for a couple of hours after the surgery then you can leave. But I’ve heard others say it takes 3-5 hours then you rest for a few hours depending on the outcome of your surgery!

Were you guys able to drive home by yourself or would you recommend someone else driving for you?

I get it, this is a lot hittin’ u all at once 😔 Recovery times can vary. Some people leave in a couple hours, others take 3-5 hours depending on how it goes. I'd recommend having someone drive you home, just to be safe.

Mine was way longer than I expected 😭 I went in thinking it’d be quick and then realised timing really depends on what they find once they’re inside.

Mine was longer than I expected 😅 I went in thinking “just a quick lap” and then realised it really depends on what they find once they’re inside 😕 some people are done in under an hour, others take several hours if there’s more endo/adhesions to deal with. The waiting beforehand honestly felt worse than the surgery itself for me.

Mine wasn’t super quick tbh 😭 it can really vary depending on what they find and whether they’re just diagnosing or actually excising endo too. Some are around 1–2 hours, but more extensive cases can take much longer. A lot of ppl wake up surprised by how much time passed lol.
