Endometriosis is a painful condition where the endometrium (inner lining of the uterus) tissue grows outside your uterus. It can also grow on another body part, such as the vagina, cervix, and ovaries.
Endometriosis is an issue that affects your ovaries, fallopian tubes, and the tissue lining your pelvis. But this post will address the topic of being able to conceive even when you have endometriosis.
Endometriosis is classified based on the location where it is found:
1. Deep endometriosis: It occurs when the endometrium-like tissue grows in the cervix
2. Chocolate cysts: It occurs when endometriosis develops in the ovaries.
These cysts can also be found in fallopian tubes and areas around the uterus.
Two common problems are associated with endometriosis:
- Pain
- Infertility
So, the question arises, how to get pregnant when you have endometriosis?
Here are 4 things recommended by a doctor to couples trying to conceive.
1. Patients are advised to undergo laparoscopic (keyhole surgery) if the cyst is larger than 3cm. This surgery aims to keep the ovary and fallopian tube functioning normally; hence, it is also termed fertility enhancement surgery.
2. If the endometriosis surgery goes well and the normal function of ovaries and fallopian tubes is maintained, the couple can get excellent results with natural methods of conception or the IUI treatment.
Intrauterine insemination (IUI) is a procedure for treating infertility where sperm are placed directly in your uterus at the time of ovulation (the time when your ovary releases one or more eggs to get fertilized).
3. For those who have the condition of deep endometriosis, it is imperative that your doctor remove this additional growth before you plan for pregnancy.
4. If a woman has Grade 4 endometriosis, the most advanced stage of endometriosis, the pair is advised to undergo IVF therapy. In such cases, IVF is the only way to conceive.
The majority of people also want to have a natural pregnancy. Therefore, to have a realistic checkpoint, they must carefully analyze the above three criteria.
If you need laparoscopic surgery, make sure to see a good endometriosis surgeon. This surgery helps maintain a normal relationship between your ovaries and fallopian tubes.
In addition, because this is a fertility-enhancing procedure, your chances of becoming pregnant are significantly boosted.

There is an additional thing to remember, in India, people with endometriosis are prescribed Lurpride injection and dienogest tablets. The truth is that none of these drugs helps improve pregnancy or affect fertility. They are given only to treat endometriosis.
Preparing for a Natural Pregnancy
If you’ve been diagnosed with endometriosis, you might be wondering if it’s worth it to try to conceive on your own before obtaining medical help. The answer is straightforward: yes.
Although you should seek medical advice first, having endometriosis does not cut out the chance of having babies. Many women, including those who have advanced stages of endometriosis, do get pregnant.

Conclusion
No doctor can guarantee you to get pregnant or say that you cannot get pregnant with endometriosis. Even people with grade 4 endometriosis can also get pregnant. As a result, couples with this condition should not lose hope as they still have a good chance of becoming pregnant.
Pregnancy is, in fact, a matter of chance. Don’t be disheartened. Continue to try, and please get in touch with us if you have any questions or issues. We’re here to help you to the best of our abilities.
