Can stress really affect IVF success rates?

Stress can impact an individual's general wellbeing while undergoing IVF treatment, the link between stress and IVF success rate is not straightforward. While it is possible that high levels of stress could impact hormone levels, sleeping, and behaviors, the scientific literature to date does not support stress being a direct reason why IVF would not be successful. Many women who experience anxiety or stress while undergoing their treatments often still successfully conceive through their IVF cycle.

It should be noted, however, that managing stress may still be helpful for the wellbeing of the mother in the run-up to and during her fertility treatment cycle. Mindfulness practices, light exercises, therapy, relaxation techniques, proper sleep, and having a supportive social network around her may all help the woman to cope better with the process. It should be understood by women that experiencing stress during IVF treatment cycles is not an indicator of future pregnancy failure.

yes, stress can influence the IVF journey, but it's important to understand how 😕. feeling anxious, overwhelmed or emotional during IVF is incredibly common, and simply being stressed does not mean your treatment will fail. There is no strong evidence that everyday stress alone directly prevents embryo implantation or guarantees a negative outcome ugh.however, chronic stress can indirectly affect fertility by disrupting sleep, appetite, exercise habits and overall emotional well-being. it may also make it harder to cope with medications, appointments & the physical demands of treatment.
